"DIED OF HEART TROUBLE: Sudden Death of Mrs. M. O. REESE North of Columbus. // Mrs. M. O. REESE, relict of the late Mr. T. C. REESE, died at her residence 8 1/2 miles north of the city at about five o'clock yesterday morning, from heart trouble. One of her sons went into the room about 4:30 o'clock to make a fire; she spoke to him, asking if he was dressed, to which he replied in the affirmative. When he retired from the room, a short time afterward, he supposed she was asleep, as she was lying in the bed perfectly still. About a half hour later one of her daughters went into the room to tell her to get up for breakfast. She found her lying still in the bed, and noticed with alarm that her hands were getting cold. The members of the family, much distressed, began rubbing her with mustard, but to no avail, for they soon discovered the spirit had fled. // Mrs. REESE had for a time been troubled with organic heart disease, although she was unusually well the day before. While her death, under all the circumstances, was not altogether unexpected, some attack like this having been feared for some time, yet it was a great shock, not only to the family, but to the entire community, by whom she was greatly beloved. // Mrs. REESE was about fifty-three years of age. She is survived by eight children and three step-children. The children are Messrs. A. T., J. C., H. B., Lawson, Gray and Marvin REESE and Rev. A. W. REESE, of Oxford, Ga., and one daughter, Miss Maud REESE. The stepchildren are Mrs. J. A. PITNER and Mrs. J. G. GRAY, both of Athens, and Mr. T. M. REESE, who lives eight miles north of the city. Mrs. REESE was a member of Pierce Chapel Methodist church, and was a most estimable lady. The funeral will take place at Pierce Chapel at two o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. T. STEWART, the interment being at Pierce Chapel burying grounds. The pall bearers will be Dr. J. M. WOOLDRIDGE, W. T. LAMBERT, T. C. TAYLOR, E. H. ALMOND, W. L. TAYLOR and Robert SLAUGHTER."
