Rev. A. W. Rees graduated from Emory College in 1890s. Around 1922 he followed Dr. Joe Sharp as head master at Emory University Academy (EUA) at Oxford. In 1926, his daughter Mary Olivia 16 years of age developed a lesion near her nose, which became infected to the extent that she died within a couple of weeks.

Brother Rees served outstanding Pastorates in the S. Ga Conference Including Wesley Monumental in Savannah. He and Mrs. Rees lived there in retirement.
