Rosendo "Ross" José García, age 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather, lost his battle to cancer on March 31, 2013, Easter Sunday, but won his way to heaven on the day of resurrection.
Rosendo is survived by his wife of fifty years, Viola "Vi", son, Alexander Marvin García and his wife, Danette, grandson, Kody García, granddaughter, Brionna García, sister, Agnes Humphrey, brother, Jerry García and his wife, Louise, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Julia McClain and her husband, John, Ramon Maestas and his wife, Hermie, Johnny Maestas Jr. and his wife, Tillie, Pat Maestas, Mary Kay Aguilar, Frank Maestas and his wife, Linda and Don Maestas and his wife, Barbara.
Ross was preceded in death by his partents, Ross Sr. and Tillie García, daughter, Melissa García-Stanley and brothers-in-law, Porf Maestas and Ernie Aguilar.
Ross was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Western Teamsters Union 492.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cuba, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Private disposition will follow at later date. Pallbearers will be Kody García, Jim García, Carlos Maestas, Ernie Aguilar, Jack Maestas, Frank Maestas Jr. and Jason White. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Durán, Ted Rael, Leo Sandoval and John McClain.
