Colonel John Frost, II, married Sarah Gerrish, daughter of Colonel Timothy Gerrish and Sarah Elliott of Gerrish Island, Kittery Point, York Co, ME, a tract of 2000 acres was presented to her mother, by her father, the Honorable Robert Elliott, as a wedding dowry.
The town of Eliot, Maine (formerly spelled Elliot), was named after her grandfather, the Honorable Robert Elliott of New Castle, Rockingham Co, NH.
On 8 Sep 1730, Colonel John Frost purchased Stony Brook Farm in Kittery (now Eliot) from his father for L1,000 and lived there. He built a home there in 1732, a small garrison in 1734, and a large garrison in 1738. This was the second house to be erected there on property which the family had held since 1660.
He fought in the French and Indian Wars and died in 1768. His will was dated Mar 11, 1768 and probated on July 11, 1768.
