Obit - Fair Haven Register Oct 4, 1934

Dorastus Pettit Jr., aged 72, passed away at his home one mile east of Fair Haven Sunday about 8 o'clock. Mr Pettit has been in poor health for some time and Thursday was taken worse from heart trouble and the physician called.He continued to be about the farm work the remainder of the week and Sunday was taken with a severe attack, from which he did not rally.

Mr Pettit was a prosperous farmer and had lived on the farm where he was born, adjoining the Pettit homestead, a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Margaret Van Patten Pettit; one stepson, Lytle Van Patten; four brothers, Robert, Fred, John and Charles Pettit; one sister, Mrs Margaret Pettit of Gorham, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev H R Austin, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated. Interment was in Springbrook Cemetery. The bearers were Ralph Stevenson, William Harris, Joseph Phobe, D H Hildebrant, John Cox and Charles Wilde.
