Mrs. Carrington was born on January 11, 1921 in Charlotte County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Abram and Elmira Walker.
She received her education at Salem School, in Red Oak, Virginia and was a graduate of the historic Thyne Institute in Chase City, Virginia.
She joined Salem Baptist Church at a very young age and continued to fellowship there until she relocated to Maryland to live with her son.
While at Salem Baptist Church she was an active member of the Missionary Circle, The Household of Ruth, and various auxiliary committees. She was also a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, Red Oak Chapter.
She was a dedicated seamstress at the Chase City Garment Manufacturing Company.
After retirement, she continued to sew; handcraft quilts and was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Carrington was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Carrington Sr. two brothers, Abraham and Roosevelt Walker; sister, Nettie Mae Brooks; daughter, Rosa Green and grandson Tyrone Green.
