Jesse L "Jake" Bewley, 81, of Aledo, ILL and formerly of Elizabethtown, died Monday at his residence
He was born in Elizabethtown and educated in the Elizabethtown schools. Bewley moved to Illinois in 1921 where he farmed in Mercer Co for 29 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aledo, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Mercer County Farm Bureau, he was also a golfer and bowler and had won several senior citizen Tournaments
Survivor; one daughter. Joyce McKinley of Aledo; six sons; Robert Bewley, Jerry Bewley, Daryl Bewley and William Bewley all of Aledo, Richard Bewley of Coal Valley, ILL; and Kenneth Bewley of Gilbert, AZ, three sisters, Grace Pfeiffer of Elizabethtown, KY Nona Jenkins of Sonora and Lillie Hodges of Rineyville; two brothers, Henry Bewley of Radcliff and Bill Bewley of Elizabethtown; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
His wife Velma Mae Mosley Bewley died 18 Jun 1980
The funeral will be at 2:30 Thursday at Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home in Aledo with burial in Aledo Cemetery
