Glen Loyal Nergaard, 64. North Port, died March 5, 2003, at home. He was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Cook County, Ill., and came to North Port 23 years ago from Eau Claire, Wis. He retired as the owner and operator of a restaurant in Eau Claire. He was a former certified nurse's assistant at Interim Health Care in Eau Claire. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, Rotary Club and chamber of commerce, all in Eau Claire. Survivors include a daughter, Kim. J. Walker of Eau Claire; a son, Scott of North Port; brothers Keith of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Dale of Marinette, Wis.; his mother Lois P. of North Port; a companion, Helen Sobczyk of North Port; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238; or to Senior Friendship Centers, 1888 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236.
