Francis E. Brown
Francis Edward Brown, aged 44, of Volant R. D. 1, died at the late residence at one a.m. Sunday following an illness of complications. Born in Pittsburgh January 4, 1908, he was a son of Richard M. and Katie Spilker Brown. He was a farmer by occupation and was a member of the Plain Grove U. P. church. He was united in marriage to the former Rebecca McConahy in 1930. Surviving is his wife, Rebecca Brown; three children, Thomas Edwin, Mary Jane and Robert Francis Brown; his mother, Mrs. Katie S. Brown; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Shaner,, Mrs. Margaret Gerber, all of Volant R. D. 2; a brother, Richard J. Brown, Mercer R. D. 5; two half-brothers, Walter H. Brenn, Irwin, Pa., and Herbert G. Brenn, California. Friends may call at the Cunningham funeral home in Leesburg today from seven to nine p.m. and Tuesday, two to four and seven to nine p.m. Services will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 2:30 p.m. from the funeral home, with interment to follow in Plain Grove cemetery.
