Kate Peel
Katherine Elizabeth (Kate) Peel, 69, a Centerville resident 33 years, who resided at 516 North 2ns Street, died in St. Joseph Hospital Saturday, May 28, 1977.
Born in Centerville July 27, 1907, she was the daughter of Martin and Lillie Blanche Roby Clemens. She was married to Francis Marion Peel, and he preceded her in death February 26, 1965.
Her parents, a brother, John Albert Clemens, and two sisters, Leona Clemens, and Sylvia Abbott, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughter and four sons, all of Centerville; Mrs. Joe (Mae Eloise) Byte, Ruth Bernice Peel, Leonard James Peel, Paul Laverne Peel, Glenn Maurice Peel, Marion Wayne Peel, 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Cline, Centerville; Mrs. Lester (Opal) Perry, Des Moines; Dorothy Adler and Virginia Clark, Mystic; and Hattie Jones, Centerville; and four brothers, LeRoy Clemens, Arvil Clemens, both of Des Moines; Richard Clemens, Centerville; and Charles Clemens, Ankeny, Ia.
Services were Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., at Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home in Centerville, with Pastor J. M. Duncan officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
