He was born on June 20, 1911 in Newark, Ohio, son of the late Joseph and Maria (Knussi) Hofacker.
He was employed for many years with the Quaker State Oil Company. In his early years he worked at the Allegheny Wesleyan College in the maintenance department. He was also very well known for his sheep shearing skills.
He moved to Ohio about 10 years ago from Emlenton and attended the Salem Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Ford whom he married in 2007, four daughters, Nancy Kingsley of Albuquerque, NM, Linda (Husband Ron) Krueger of Zebulln, NC, Marilyn (Husband Dr. Robert) England of Salem, and Kathy (Husband Aaron) Klassen of Miamisburg, Ohio, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parent, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Russell Hofacker, second wife, Audrey Hovis Hofacker, his third wife Mary Reedy Hofacker, a son, Chauncy Hofacker, siblings, William, Carl, Leo and Fredrick Hofacker, Martha Seidell, Mary Thornton, and Gertrude Thoma.
The burial will be Saturday afternoon in Big Bend Cemetery in Emlenton.
