F.W. Kilpatrick, 79 [80], Dies; Was Mail Carrier 27 Years

Frank W. Kilpatrick, Rt. 4, Warren, former mail carrier here for 27 years, died Tuesday at 11 p.m. at Five Points Nursing Home, Hartford. He was 79 [80].
A former three-term clerk and treasurer of the Bazetta Board of Education, Mr. Kilpatrick first started work at the Warren Post Office in November 1917. He retired in September 1944.
Mr. Kilpatrick's death resulted from complications.
While a mail carrier he served for several years as president of the Rural Mail Carriers Assn.
Before becoming a postman he was employed by the old Winfield Manufacturing Co. here, forerunner of the present day Taylor-Winfield Corp.
Mr. Kilpatrick, a native of Warren, was born March 20, 1881 [1880], the son of Alex and Lucy Latimer Kilpatrick. He was educated in Warren schools.
He married the former Gertrude Park in August 1903. His wife survives. The couple celebrated their [50th] anniversary in 1953.
Mr. Kilpatrick was a member of the First Baptist Church here, the Champion Grange, Pomona Grange and the Trumbull County Farm Bureau.
He often spent winters in Florida after retirement until an illness three years ago.
Other survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Alice McCafferty, Warren, and Mrs. Martha Conley, Cleveland; son, Elbert L., Youngstown; one sister, Mrs. Marie Thompson, Warren; four grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the White Funeral Home where friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
The place of burial has not been determined, the funeral home reported.
