Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, May 17, 1954, page 2:
  Mrs. Louise Dorothy Armbruster, 91, of 220 North Buchanan street, died Sunday at 2:45 p.m. at her home where she had been in failing health for the last five weeks.
  She was born April 5, 1863, in Staunton, the daughter of the late Frederick and Wilhelmina (Miehe) Wehling of Carpenter.  On Aug. 8, 1889, she was married to Christian Armbruster of Edwardsville at the Immanuel Evangelical church in Hamel and had been an Edwardsville resident for 65 years. Her husband preceded her in death in March, 1937.
  She was a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She was also a member of St. John's Methodist church.
  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H.W. (Eleanor) Jarrett of Cantonment, Fla., and Miss Delhpine Armbruster of Edwardsville; and one sister, Miss Mary Wehling of Alton. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One son, Nelson Frederick Armbruster, preceded her in death in 1912 and one sister and three brothers also preceded her in death.
  Friends and relatives may call at the Lesley Marks funeral home after 12 noon Tuesday until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when funeral services will be held at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clyde Funkhouser, pastor of St. John's Methodist church, officiating.
  Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Kreuzer, George Moorman Sr., J. King Eaton, Christie Jahns, E.W. Winkle and George Merkel.
