In this city on Sunday night, April 14, Alma, daughter of Chas. F. and Minnie Holtz. The deceased was born in this city, Aug. 25, 1869, and has resided here most of that time. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She had been apparently in good health up to the time that she was called to the sleep that knows no waking on this side of the great river. She was up and around and seemed to be lively and act natural. On the 7th inst she attended the dance at the Turner Hall and took an active part. On Friday of last week she attended a funeral and sung in the choir. Sunday morning she did not feel like getting up as usual, and remained in bed. During the day she ate her meals regularly, and at nine o'clock called her mother and requested a lunch, which she ate. Between ten and eleven o'clock Sunday night she got out of bed and in getting back fell forward on her face and expired. She was a young lady who had made many friends by her sweet disposition and lady-like manner, a dutiful daughter and loving sister. The funeral took place on Thursday from the Ebenezer Church. The remains were followed to the Breed cemetery by a large concourse of friends.
