W/O Preston Hail, who was the son of Dudley Hail of Virginia. Preston was born 17 May 1797 and died on 26 Feb. 1865 as a POW in Illinois. He signed up for the CSA in 1863 at the age of 66 years, it is unknown where he is buried. Preston's last name may have been spelled Hale. I have added this after reviewing picture of original headstone. Elizabeth Hale with birth and death dates as above.
