Denison -- Thelma Maree Hedges, 84, Denison, diedSaturday, Oct. 28, 1995, at her home.
Mrs. Hedges and her husband owned and operated Hedges Grocery in Denison until 1955. She worked for Woolworth's Store in Omaha, Neb. for several years before she retired in 1973.

She was born Aug. 10, 1911, in Wabaunsee County, the daughter of James P. and Mabel Jones Clark. She attended school in Maple Hill and had lived in Denison from 1937 to 1955 and then from 1973 until she died.
Mrs. Hedges was a member of Denison Bible Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Denison.

She married John M. Hedges on Jan. 22, 1928, in Alma. He died Jan. 13, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, James Hedges, Chatsworth, Ga., and John C. Hedges, Bethel Park, Pa.; two daughters, Peggy McCrory, Holton, and Marie Gunther, Mayetta; 12 grandchildren; and 23great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Denison Bible Church. Burial will be at the Denison Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Denison Bible Church in Denisron, 66419. Mercer Funeral Homein Holton is in charge of arrangements.
