Born in Quincy,son of the lat Adolfo and Lecila (DiColis)Abate.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Owned & operated Abate Monument Co in Beverly for many years.
Survived by his wife of 61 years, a daughter, Nancy Hall; sons, Peter & his wife, Celeste(Levesque Abate ; a grandson, Michael; a daughter-in-law Elaine(Davico); two adopted grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers-in-law.
