Martha Jane Luetta "Lou" Roe, 91 of Washington, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following declining health.

Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 AM Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 PM in the evening. A general memorial in the name of Luetta Roe has been established at the funeral home.

Luetta was born November 20, 1916 in West Liberty, Iowa the daughter of David and Bertha (Ripley) Misel. She was a 1934 graduate of Washington High School and was united in marriage to Robert A. Roe on July 3, 1940 in Washington.

She worked alongside her husband in the early years in Bob Roe's Tin Shop. She was a member of the Washington Women's Bowling Assoc. and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and bowling. She also enjoyed camping at the Iowa State Fair.

Survivors include her son Mike Roe and wife Patty of Washington, sister Mary Bower and husband Dale of Oskaloosa, grandson Bobby Roe of Wichita, KS, adopted granddaughter Christina Gray of Kalona and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1991, brother Elwood and sister Jessie Teets.
