Pioneer Idaho Resident Dies at Idaho Falls November 20

Pioneer Idaho resident, Mrs. Amy L. Toone, formerly of this valley, and mother of J. Alfred and Los Toone, died Thursday, Nov. 20. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Johnson at Idaho Falls after a four-months illness.

Mrs. Toone was born April 28, 1860 at Parleys Park, Utah, a daughter of Jesse W and Betsy Ann Snyder Johnston. She was married to John E. Toone, Dec. 31, 1878 in Utah, and with her husband moved to Gentile Valley in 1885 where they engaged in ranching. In 1910, due to Mr. Toone's illness, they moved to Lava Hot Springs and in 1915 moved to Idaho Falls. Mr. Toone passed away in Idaho Falls in 1923.

She is survived by eight children,
J. Alfred and Los Toone, Grace,
Rock Toone, Twin Falls;
Lon(?) Toone and Mrs. Oscar Johnson, Mrs. Emma Fink, Idaho Falls;
Mrs. Mary Brown, Salt Lake City
and Mrs. A.L. Hooper, Lava Hot Springs.

Funeral services, in charge of the Wood mortuary, were held Monday in the Idaho Falls fifth ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Ray Pickett conducting.
