Willie L. Lusk
Mr. Willie L. Lusk, 68, of Corsicana, was born in Oakwood, Leon County on June 1, 1943. He was the third child of five children, born to Oscar and Ethel Echols Lusk. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully. He was an ordained Deacon and Trustee. He received his education from the G. W. Carver High School in Dawson. He was a 1962 graduate.
He married Ora Daniels on Aug. 17, 1964, and to this union they were blessed with one son, Derrick Lusk. Willie was retired from the Pactive Corporation in 2009.
The Angel of Silence entered into his life on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Oscar Lusk and Ethel Allen; two brothers, Charles Henry Lusk and Richard Lusk; two sisters, Almetta Dickson and Chinessa Erskine.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life his wife of 47 years of marriage, Ora Lusk of Corsicana; son, Pastor Derrick Lusk and wife Kim; three granddaughters, Kayli, Katelyn and Keana Lusk, all of Rockwall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl Daniels Jr. (Janis), Hutchins, Jimmy Daniels, Tommy Daniels (Karen), and Tammy Sheffield, all of Ennis; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are noon, Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at the Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church located at 400 South 15th Street, with Pastor Alvin E. Smith officiating. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
