Clothing Store Operator Succumbs to Week's Illness
Services were conducted today for Harris Amdursky, 80, Fulton clothing merchant for 53 years, who died in the Oswego Hospital yesterday afternoon following a week's serious illness. Services were held at the home of his son, Attorney Leonard Amdursky of the firm of Culkin & Amdursky, 36 West Eighth Street, at 1 P. M. Burial was made in Syracuse. A native of Suvak, Russia, Mr. Amdursky came to Syracuse when he was 15 years old. Shortly after he moved to Cato where he operated a small business. Five years later he established a clothing business in the Lewis Block in South First Street, Fulton. In 1902 he engaged for a short time in the clothing business in Syracuse. He returned to Fulton, establishing a clothing business at 36 South First Street. He was the dean of merchants in Oswego County. Mr. Amdursky was a member of Hiram Lodge 144, F. and A. M., Fulton, and for a number of years was active in the Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Following the death of his wife, he moved to Oswego to live
with his son. He was a member of the Jewish Synagogue Temple Concord, Syracuse. Surviving, besides his son, are two grandsons, Robert Sidney and Nancy Joy Amdursky, and a brother, Abraham Amdursky, New York.
