Andrew served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a 50 year member of the Lion's Club of San Marcos, an active member of St. John's Catholic Church and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1954, he was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and worked in San Antonio, Kingsville and Austin, Texas. He settled in San Marcos, Texas, continuing his career for 30 years as manager of the local Goodyear store, until his retirement in 1989. Andy was known as a good and kind man who cared for people and lived a respectable life. His friends and customers often referred to him as "Mr. Goodyear" and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leroy Petermann;and two sisters, Janey Kettner and Esther Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Petermann; daughter, Donna Shaw and husband, Dominic of Dripping Springs; their children, Tyler, Haeley and Jordan; daughter, Carla Petermann of Canyon Lake; sisters, Iola Heimann of Fredericksburg, Elisabeth Berg of New Braunfels, Mildred Henke of Fredericksburg and Emma Brisbin of Austin.
