Geneva "Neva" (Collins) Oliver, age 96, of Clarence, MO, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013, at 2:12 am at the Clarence Care Center, where she had been a resident since September of 2008.

Geneva Louise "Neva" was born August 2, 1916, on the family farm near Leonard, MO, the daughter of Issac N. and Virgie Haun Gander. On December 14, 1935, she was united in marriage to C. Chester "Check" Collins. To this union four children were born, Ellen Adams and husband Leroy of Lentner, MO, Eddie Collins and wife Ida and Danny Collins and wife Charlotte of Clarence, MO and Roy Collins and wife Chris of Monroe City, MO who survive her along with 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. On March 4, 1989, she was married to Wm. H. "Bill" Oliver of Clarence, where they made their home. He survives. She is also survived by one sister, Katherine Jones and husband Bob of Macon, MO and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, "Check" Collins of Leonard on January 21, 1968, her second husband Dearing Baymiller of Leonard; one great-great-grandson, Logan Gill of Shelbina; five sisters, Margie Echternacht, Aldena Shofstall, Virginia Baymiller, Goldie Gander and Faye Gander and four brothers, Raymond Gander, Russell Gander, Jimmie Gander and Delbert Gander.

Geneva was a member of the Leonard Christian Church and attended the Clarence Christian Church. She loved the outdoors and worked alongside her husband, Check. For many years she raised dogs and shipped them to various destinations in the U.S. She provided cleaning services for several area households, as well as the Leonard School and South Shelby High School. She had also worked at the Shelbina Nutrition Site. She especially enjoyed caring for, and knowing the children in the schools.

Funeral services will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2013, with burial to follow at Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, MO. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Clarence from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center.
