After attending school in Ashland, he served with the U.S. Army. Don married the love of his life and best friend, Margaret (Cyr) Parker, March 18, 1964. They moved to Benton where he was employed at the Goodwin's Farm. He later worked for Ralston Purina, Fairfield, and Keyes Fibre, Fairfield. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to make people laugh, spending time with family, and adored his three grandchildren. He and Margaret enjoyed as Don called it "running the roads." He loved to take long rides with Margaret while looking for wildlife. Spending time with his wife and family was especially enjoyable for him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Ray Parker; and sister, Lois St. Peter. Don will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret Parker; son, Don Parker and wife, Sheri, of Freeport; daughter, Kellie Duplisea and husband, Robert, of Pittsfield; brother, Lee Parker and wife, Kay; sisters, Anne Ketch and husband, Bud, and Donna Beaulieu and husband Merton; brother-in-law, Phillip St. Peter; grandchildren, Lauren and Reiley Parker, and Ethan Duplisea; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. (Bangor Daily News 3/22/2013)
