DAVENPORT - Mrs. Wilma L. Niemann, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Davenport Good Samaritan Center, Schuetzen Park Guild or a favorite charity.
She was born on October 30, 1908, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Minnie (Schnoor) Claussen. On February 20, 1930, she was united in marriage to Albert W. Niemann in Davenport. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1989. Mrs. Niemann and her husband farmed in Sheridan Township and later in Blue Grass Township. She was a member of Liedertaufel and the Golden Wedding Club. Mrs. Niemann loved flowers, gardening, sewing and playing cards. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Verla and Richard Wulf, Grand Mound, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Eleanor Niemann, Walcott, Iowa; grandchildren, Deborah and Robert Vize, Aurora, Ill., Loren and Jane Niemann, Davenport, Linda Niemann, Davenport, Lisa and Jeff Knipe, Fort Madison, Iowa, Michael Wulf, Grand Mound, and Mark Niemann, Davenport; and great-grandchildren, Anna Vize, Albert Vize, Joel Knipe and Hannah Niemann. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Merle and Janice Niemann; two brothers, Clarence and Lawrence Claussen; a sister, Norma Marten; and granddaughter, Judy Niemann.
