Kenneth L. Leigh, Sr., 75, of Hamburg died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Leigh was a native of Crossett and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He retired from the Arkansas National Guard after 21 years of service and he worked for the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill for 45 years, having retired in 2000. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Barnett Leigh in 1957; his parents, Alpheus & Addine Swan Leigh and a step-brother, A.J. Leigh.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beth Barnett Leigh; a son, Kenneth Leigh Jr. and wife, Wanda, all of Hamburg; a daughter, Anita Carle and husband, Leonard, of Hope; a sister, Christine Riley of Hamburg; two brothers, Johnnie Leigh of Hamburg and Danny Leigh of Conway; three grandchildren, Kennton Leigh of Jonesboro, Matthew Leigh of Monticello and Wayne Smith and wife, Emily, of Roanoke, Texas.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Meredith and Rev. Michael Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery. Pallbearers are Herbert Wallace, Andrew Wallace, Fred Sivils, Ross Bryan, Troy Farmer, Junior Campbell and Ronnie Nelms. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Adult Men's Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 400 Washington Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home
