Biography
David William Hooker, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital after a short illness. He was retired from C.F. Industries and World Carpet as a boiler operator. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where he especially loved listening to the Youth Choir. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duard and Sylvia Hooker; two brothers, Johnny Lee and Wayne Lonnie Hooker.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Zora Chastain Hooker of Cleveland; one son, Randy Hooker and wife, Teri; one daughter, Robyn Melton and husband, Tim all of Cleveland; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Hooker and wife, Barbira of Cleveland and Eddie Hooker of Loganville, GA; one sister, Brenda Hooker Adams of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. Richard Houzvicka, Jamison Dottore, Matthew Hooker, Johnny Burgess, Jimmy Parton and Ron Lovingood serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
