He is preceded in death by his parents, Duard and Sylvia Hooker; brothers: David, Wayne and Eddie Hooker; his sister, Brenda Hooker.
Mr. Hooker worked in construction for many years, he was also an accomplished and talented wood worker. After his retirement he built many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. His family's homes are full of many pieces that he built. His woodworking knowledge and talent were all self-taught.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his life. He will be greatly missed, especially his hugs. He always had a smile and a big hug for everyone.
Leaving behind to mourn their loss is his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hughes Hooker; children Tami Reese (Mike), Leslie Black (Danny), Verlin Hooker (Tammy), Scotty Hooker (Kim); grandchildren: Jonathan Reese, Blake Hooker (Amber), Brett Hooker (Kayla), Hayden Black (Kira), Brady Hooker, and Koby Hooker; great grandchildren: Bailey Hooker, Gunner Hooker, Nolan Hooker, Silas Hooker, Ryder Black, Landen Black and Cali Black.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Sammy Hughes officiating. The interment will follow at Earls Cemetery with Blake Hooker, Verlin Hooker, Koby Hooker, Brady Hooker, Brett Hooker and Hayden Black serving as pallbearers.
