Samuel "Sam" Wyatt, 70, of Mayo, SC, passed away on March 23, 2005 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

His devoted wife of 23 years, Gloria (Craig) Wyatt, of the home survives him. He was a son of Thelma Godfrey Wyatt of Mayo and the late Boyd Andrew Wyatt.

Born on May 26, 1934, he was a native of Spartanburg County, and a life long resident of Mayo.

Sam was a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church, was retired owner of Wyatts Harness Shop, an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved his family most of all. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Tim Morris of Gaffney; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Janice Wyatt of Chesnee; grandchildren, Dillon and Mathew Morris, granddaughter, Nici Thompson and husband Phil of Inman, grandson, Josh Wyatt and wife Alicia of Raleigh and great grandchildren, Nicholas and Suzanna Thompson and a great-granddaughter is expected in August also survive him. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Ruth Epley, Sadie Horne and Ricky Wyatt of Mayo, Vernie Swofford and Imogene (Peggy) Pearcy, and Lonnie Wyatt of Chesnee, Reggie Wyatt of Pacolet. Also, he is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, J. B. Wyatt and a sister, Barbara Ann Wyatt.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Orchard Street Baptist Church. Rev. Allen Dean Blanton will officiate. Interment was in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Andy Wyatt, Phillip Wyatt, David Roach, Tim Morris, George Price, and Gerard Levesque.
