James Lee Adkins, passed away March 17, 2013 at Lee's Summit Medical Center.

James was born October 2, 1938 to parents, Viol and Raleigh Adkins. He was born in Carrollton, MO. Most of life was spent in, and near Kansas City, MO, having completed his school years here.

He worked for General Motors and started working in the Leeds Plant, July 1977. He also worked at the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City. He retired with 30 years in 2008.

His parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of the home; step son Duane Joy, Des Moines, IA; step daughter Ronda Dyer, Hanford CA: step daughter Judith Montgomery, Smith Center, KS; 7 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Jim was a good husband, loving father, and friend to all. He will be missed by those that knew him.

Burial will be at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like St. Luke's Hospice to receive contributions.
