The Daily Northwestern, Oshkosh Mon 9 Nov 1914:
.......The news of her death caused profound sorrow and many friends called to extend sympathy to the bereaved family, while her co-employees at the store of the F. A. Plummer Company were stricken with grief that caused them to think and speak of little else. She was a great favorite among the clerks of that store and in the social circles in which she moved. She was of a happy disposition and it was said of her that whenever Miss Witzel was present in a crowd of young people there was sure to be jollity, as she was the "life of the crowd."
Her brother, Edgar Witzel, is a traveling salesman and he could not be located during Saturday, but he came home unexpectedly in the evening and was with her at the time of her death.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from the home, 79 Myrtle street at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ernst Schlerf of the New York avenue Lutheran Church, officiating.
