Woodrow Center, 85, of 119 Center Road, widower of Addie Beatrice Culbertson Center, died January 21, 1999 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
A native of Greenville County, son of the late Avery and Minnie Burns Center. He was a retired employee of Union Bleachery and a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. George (Katherine) Buchanan of Greenville, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Peahuff of Greer, Mrs. Joe (Ruby) Peahuff of Taylors, Mrs. Louis (Ann) Bagwell of Townsville, Mrs. David (Martha) Hill of Taylors, and Mrs. Jim (Viian) Hasty of Taylors; three sons, Joe Center, Bobby Center, both of Greer, and John Center of Taylors; one brother, Willis Center of Piedmont; five sisters, Allie Coward of Greenville, Vera Trainer of Dunkirk, Md., Orietta Lindley of Greenville, Belle Lovern of Wetumpka, AL., and Ann Grant of Greenville; eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Center was predeceased by a brother, M.O. Center and a sister Leola Bryant.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Sam T. Staggs. Burial will be in Mt. Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Centers grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wood Mortuary.
The family will be at the home of a daughter, Martha Hill, 103 Mountain Crest Dr., Taylors, S.C.
