Raymond Melvin Johnson 82, of 2503 W. 45th Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas died Tuesday at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born in Holliday in Johnson County, Kansas, and was a life-long area resident. Mr. Johnson was an electrician for the Kansas City Terminal Railway about 40 years before he retired in 1961. He was a member of the Westwood Christian Church. He was a 50-year member of the Westport Masonic Lodge and a member of the Shawnee Mission Color Slide Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie E. Johnson of the home, three sons, Harden Johnson and Vernon Johnson of Kansas City and Byron Johnson of Overland Park; also a brother, Orla J. Johnson, Fruitland, Idaho, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at Mount Moriah Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the church.
