DUANE HILLMAN, 79, of Pleasant Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1986 in the emergency room of Illini Hospital in Pittsfield after suffering an apparent heart attack in Pleasant Hill. His ancestors settled in Pike County in 1851. Born near Pleasant Hill Sept 18, 1906, he was a son of Scott and Ida Keller Hillman. He married Zoe M. Merriam Nov. 24, 1928, in Woodstock. She died Nov. 8, 1977. Mr Hillman was a retired carpenter. He had taught in Pike County schools and was a circus performer in his earlier years. Mr Hillman attended Illinois State Normal University. He was a member for more than 50 years of the Carpenters Union Local 904 at Jacksonville, being one of its charter members. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a great-grandson. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home at Pleasant Hill by the Rev. David Ford. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery at Pleasant Hill.
