Ella A. Bohne, age 98, of Two Rivers, died Monday, November 6, 2000,
at the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am. Friday, November 10, 2000, at
St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. Rev. William Kesting
and Rev. Terese Leonhard will officiate with burial to follow at the
church cemetery.
Ella was born April 20, 1902, in the Town of Herman, daughter of the
late Herman and Augusta Dochow Simonsmeier. She married Henry Bohne
April 2, 1923, in the Town of Herman. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Ella and her husband, Henry lived and farmed the Bohne Homestead at
Spring Valley. She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ
where she was a Sunday School teacher and a charter member of the Ladies
Aide. Ella was a leader in the Goodwin Ever Readies 4-H Club.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Audrey
Bohne, Prescott, Ariz., Henry Jr. and Arlene Bohne, Parker, Colo.,
Donald and Judith Bohne, Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law,
LaVene Zink, Madison, Marie and Gerald Leonhard, Sheboygan, Dorothy and
William Mueller, Manitowoc; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, other relative and friends also survive. Besides her
parents and her husband, Henry, she was preceded in death by one grandson;
one son-in-law; one brother and one sister.
Relatives and friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. James United
Church of Christ until the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Ella’s name.
The Jens Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
