Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. . Monday, Nov. 12, at the Pilgrim Congregational Church at Ocheyedan, for Mrs. Howard Wilmarth, a resident of Ocheyedan for many years.

Mrs. Wilmarth was born Harriet Marion Logan, daughter of John and Catherine Logan. She was born Oct. 21, 1886, near Waterloo, and passed from this life Nov. 8, 1962, in the Worthington Municipal Hospital at the age of 76 years.

She came to Osceola County with her parents in the spring of 1895 and lived on a farm in Allison Township until the spring of 1902 when the family moved to Harris. She graduated from the Harris High School in 1904. She taught in the rural schools of Osceola County for several years.

On March 26, 1907, she was united in marriage to Howard Wilmarth at Harris. To this union was born two children. They lived in Harris until 1920 when the moved to Ocheyedan. For over 30 years she was employed in the McGowan store which later became the Wilmarth store, retiring in 1952.

She was a member of the Congregational Church, Woman's Fellowship, Woman's Relief Corps, Unity Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America and the Rebekah Lodge where she was a faithful worker, holding nearly every office at one time or another. At the time of her death was senior vice president of Relief Corps, recorder and flower committee of the Royal Neighbors.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Howard, a son, Homer, at home and daughter, Mrs. E.R. (Hortense) Christianson of Glendale, California, one granddaughter, Mrs. John (Elizabeth Ann) Abruze of Glendale, California, and one great grandson, Michael Jon. One sister, Mrs. E.L. McFarland of Harris and one brother, Goerge H. Logan of Pocahontas, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
