Glenda Marie Ball, 88 of Denton, Texas, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Denton. She was born February 10, 1920 in Goodnight, Oklahoma to Nathaniel Arthur and Frances Vontelle (Morgan) Lamb.
She married Rev. Harold Eugene Ball on June 22, 1947 in Mound City, Kansas and he passed away on March 29, 2007. She was a preacher's wife for 42 years. Glenda worked in grocery stores and drug stores to help put Harold through seminary school. They worked as a team; there were hundreds of weddings, funerals, and church business. Harold took care of the weddings Glenda took care of the details. She worked as a volunteer at hospitals in Baster Springs, Kansas and Clinton, Missouri.
After Harold's death she moved to Denton, TX Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village where she volunteered as an ambassador and worked with RSVP. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Denton. She has been a member of CWF holding many offices. She was a den mother, a nurse at church camps, a seamstress, a tailor, a caretaker, a cheerleader for her boys and grandchildren, the chief cook and bottle washer. But most of all, she was a sister, a wife, and a great mother. She survived the stock market crash, the dust bowl, the depression, many storms through her life and of course Harold.
Mrs. Ball is survived by two sons, Robert A. Ball and wife Laura of Humbolt, Kansas and Richard A. Ball and wife Jan of Argyle, TX; three sisters; and one brother, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Burial in the Woodland Cemetery in Mound City, Kansas.
