Robert "Bobby" William Latta, Jr., 89, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Robert was born in Wichita to Robert Sr. and Etta (King) Latta. He grew up in Harper until the late 1930s. He then graduated from Iola High School in 1941.

On October 4, 1946, Robert married his true love Virginia Lorene Kaufman. They made their home in Iola and took over the family farming business.

He loved farming, showing cattle, hogs and took pride in his work.

SURVIVORS:

His wife of 66 years: Virginia Latta of the home

4 Children: Sandra Adams and her husband Charlie of Wichita, Cara Cleaver and the late Russell Cleaver of Iola, Randy Latta and his wife Patty of Iola and Mindy Holland and her husband Rodger of Iola

10 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Etta Latta, daughter Ronda Joan Latta, son-in-law Russell Cleaver, brother LeRoy Latta and sister Norma Brower.

VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.

BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas
