Susan Gray Bacon was the daughter of Hackley Bartholomew Bacon (1841-1916) and Katherine Gray (1849-1921).
Shortly after Susan's death in 1882, her father retired from the banking business in New York and moved the family to Ventnor, Isle of Wight, England. Sadly, her younger brother Francis Gray Bacon died February 27, 1892 at age 12 (in the 13th year of his life) subsequent to a fall from his Shetland pony. Her father died in Ventnor in 1916, and her mother in Ventnor in 1921.
