Ogden – Velma A. Smith Stout, 92, passed away March 11, 2013.
She was born October 1, 1920 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Esther Elizabeth East and Martin Smith.
Velma lived her entire life in Ogden and attended Ogden City Schools. She was a member of the LDS Church.
Velma retired from civil service at DDO and afterwards had her own business as an IBM Keypunch Instructor.
She loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her son, Roy (Yvonne) Alexander; daughter, Lorie (Ernie) Hansen; 11 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Glen (Afton) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands and nine siblings.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison Ave. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice for Utah, including a special appreciation to caregivers Colleen Terry and Chantel Smith for the kind and loving care they gave Velma.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Utah Heart Association.
