DALLAS ~ John Clifford Sams, 81, passed away on March 12, 2013, after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, to the late Zeb and Lucy Barrett Sams. He was retired from Carolina Freight.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kate Sams, five brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors.
Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia is serving the Sams family.
