Robert Felix Kappes, age 81, of Devine, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in D'Hanis, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Kappes; second wife, Martha Kappes; parents, Felix and Helen (Wagner) Kappes; brother, David Kappes; sister, Evelyn Books.
He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Hart and husband Bill of Yancey, Angela Soma and husband Jerry of Litchfield, ND, Merri Brieden and husband David of Sour Lake, Roberta Wilde of San Antonio, and Theresa Downing and husband Mark of Devine; brother, Ronald Kappes of Northern Minnesota; sisters, Bernice Machala of Austin, Margie Doe of Minneapolis, MN, and Verena DeLong of Halstead, MN; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
He served 20 years in the United States Air Force. He worked on B-52 cargo planes and was master mechanic several times throughout his career.
