Major Dale T. Quigley, Retired, 83, Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Major Quigley was born in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania on November 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Esther (Stoner) Quigley.
Dale was a graduate of Enola High School, where he played basketball, football, baseball and ran track. Dale was a life long Lutheran and retired from the United States Air Force. He was a Fighter Pilot in the European Theatre with over 57 missions.
He was an avid golfer, sports fan, reader and Dale enjoyed a lifelong love of flying for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and Korea. Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years, Victory C. (Anderson) Quigley; daughter, Mistie K. Quigley-Ritchie of Olmsted Falls, OH; granddaughter, Holly Ritchie of Olmsted Falls, OH; grandson, Rylan Ritchie of Olmsted Falls, OH; sisters, Isabel Stansfield of Mechanicsburg and Dixie Sheely of Camp Hill; and brothers, Carter Quigley of Steelton and Ronald Quigley of Camp Hill. Memorial service at Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, on Friday, November 5th, with Reverend Robert W. Malick, Jr., officiating. Burial with full military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
