Mrs. Howe was born in Durham, to the late Carl Henry Taylor and Gladys Gertrude McLean Taylor. She retired from John Umstead Hospital as a switchboard operator. She was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church Northside.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Howe.
She is survived by her sons, Todd Howe (Ellen) of Creedmoor and Randy Howe (Amy) of Butner; grandchildren, Kirby and Dillon Howe.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jack Hollowell. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
