John Leo Huffman, 92, of Marietta, passed away March 8, 2013, at Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 15, 1920, in Harriettsville, Ohio, to the late Leo John and Christina (Singer) Huffman.
He worked for Airolite Company as a production employee for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elk Township Grange and he was also elected to the Elk Local School Board. John and his wife, Nina, lived in Harriettsville for 70 years and were both members of St. Henry's Catholic Church. During his time in Harriettsville, John served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector, and was also voted the Parishioner of the Year by the Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Nina (Hendershot) Huffman; two sons, Steve (Jo) and John (Bev) Huffman, both of Marietta; four grandchildren, Taylor Huffman (Charlotte), Allison Mincks (Shawn), Tara Healey (John) and Tanner Huffman (Anna); seven great-grandchildren, Callie, Lane and Will Huffman, Cameron and Grace Mincks, Fiona Healey and Audrey Huffman; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, as well as two grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marietta, with Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hadley Funeral Home, 500 Fifth St., Marietta. Burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Restoration Fund.
