Mildred E. "Mickey" Kessler, age 87, of St. Rt. 124 Vinton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born August 3, 1922 in Harrietsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leo and Christine Singer Huffman. Mildred was a 1940 graduate of Harrietsville High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Walter Kessler, Sr.; son, James W. Kessler, Jr. (Wylodene) of Hamden; daughter, Sandra L. Kessler of Wellston; grandchildren, James S. Kessler of Hamden and Angela Kessler Dempsey (Todd) of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Kessler Frydley (Brian), Chelsey Kessler, James Kessler II, Ian Dempsey and Jack Dempsey; brother, John Huffman of Marietta, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her grandson, Timothy Kessler and several brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston where rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father David Huffman and Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
