He resided in Washington County, Maryland & was a member of the Maryland National Guard prior to the war.

Lloyd's Maryland National Guard unit was activated into full time service on February 3, 1941, prior to the war, from Hagerstown, Maryland. He was noted, at that time, as being Single, without dependents.

Lloyd was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
