TAYLOR W. MASSEY PASSES AWAY SUNDAY MORNING
Taylor Walton Massey, well known retired Collin County farmer, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Sunday enroute to City-County Hospital. Mr. Massey, who had been in failing health the past two years, was stricken suddenly Sunday morning and died before reaching the hospital.
A former resident of this city, Mr. Massey, who was 79 years of age, had been residing with a son, Elmer T. Massey, at Prosper the past month. A resident of Collin County the past 50 years, he was a member of the Baptist Church.
His survivors include three sons, the Rev. Ernest W. Massey of Ryan, Okla., Elmer T. Massey of Prosper and Gabriel E. Massey of Midland; one daughter, Mrs. Roland C. Jones of Anna; three brothers and three sisters and 11 grandchildren. Besides his parents, his wife and three sons preceded him in death.
Funeral services at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon here at the First Baptist Church. Interment was in Wylie Cemetery with Arthur Lair Massey, Paul Massey, Glyn Massey, Ernest Wayne Massey, Price Strickland and Arvil Humphrey acting as pallbearers. --The Daily Courier-Gazette (McKinney, Texas); Monday, 07 May 1951; pg. 8
