Villages are beginning to be laid out. About 1840-1843 Rawley Moore had William Price lay out a town along Jakes Run, to be known as Mooresville. He sold lots to William Price, Jacob Moore, R. B. Tennant, John Piles, WILLIAM SINE, and others. JOHN SINE, it is said, built the first house. A post office was established a few years later.
