"Reunion of Remster Family --
There was a large gathering of the descendants of Frederic Remster at the homestead of Albert Remster, near Yorketown, on Christmas Day. Frederic Remster was a Hollander, who came from Amsterdam prior to the American Revolution, and settled in Salem County, where he is in company with a number of Dutch settlers formed the community known as Friesburg. The Remsters are known far and wide as one of the most successful and hospitable families in South Jersey, owning some of the finest farms in Salem County. Sixty members of this family sat down to a Christmas dinner, sumptuos and full of good cheer. Old times were talked over and it was a merry day for a merry family. It is a custom of the Remsters to have an annual reunion on Christmas, and they make that holiday the red-letter day of the year."

Note: Frederic Remster, the Holland immigrant mentioned above, is great-great-grandfather to Albert Remster.
